Color magic is the thoughtful, intentional use of color to help communicate ideas, empower or change an outcome.
Examples:
- Wearing a color for luck.
- Changing decor with seasons.
- Coordinating candle color for a spell’s theme.
- Devotional art color choices. (Here’s a post 🔗about the symbolism in one of my icons of Frigg, Baldr and Höðr.)
- Making paints with dirt from your travels.
Some things that have helped me with working with color:
Color theory
- how colors mix
- how color can evoke emotion
- how pigments are made and reproduced
- how color associations change throughout history
- how color is used in special effects

Ideas to try:
- Make a palette for spell with colors from a picture that’s meaningful to you.
- Make a list of colors, what you associate with them and why.
- Design a spell as though you had different eyes. Don’t have to be human ones~😉
