This is an update of some seiðr I wrote years ago to help with pain management.
Whether standing, sitting or lying down I like to do this with my arms crossed over my chest and feet shoulder-width apart. If this is uncomfortable or you are unable to do it, modify as needed. It can be done during a shower, sitting at a desk, lying in bed—the goal is to find a position that makes you feel supported, held and safe.
Start by taking a deep breath and imagining yourself on the edge of a cliff. Below you is everything you want to escape from, that’s bothering or hurting you, zoomed out to a scenic blur. Above you are clouds of Wyrd being spun like wool.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Keep breathing in the same pattern as you focus on where the pain is and call on the Goddess Eir’s touch to find and trap it like amber moving through a tree trunk. Gilding it to take away as a new chain around her neck or cast it off the cliff. Stay in this moment for as long as you are able. Relax into the sensations. Flex, stretch, sway, move however feels good or not if that feels better.
Call on the Goddess Freyja to wrap you in her falcon-cloak. Feel your frame being draped with feathers. Their downy warmth enveloping you, quills lightly pricking where it hurts, offering the pain to the air. You may feel lighter and floaty as tension releases. To stay grounded or when you are ready to come down call on the Goddess Sigyn to gather you in the strength of her arms and hold the bundle that is you. In the air or in her arms you are supported. You are safe. You are not a burden.
When you’re finished/wake up have some water and a snack~
